What each product actually is
Before comparing features it helps to be precise about what you are buying.
- Oxylabs operates a large pool of residential IPs — real home connections enrolled via a partner SDK — plus datacenter and a mobile pool. Its flagship add-ons are a Web Scraper API (unlocker) and a SERP API that return already-parsed results. Pricing is metered per gigabyte.
- Nodetonet gives you mobile 4G/5G proxies tied to physical Android devices you own or control. An Android agent app pairs each phone as a proxy via a token; you manage everything — rotating, sticky sessions, per-client quotas, IP allow/deny — from one panel. Billing is prepaid credit, and idle devices cost nothing.
These are not direct substitutes. They serve overlapping but distinct use cases, which is why the right question is usually not "which one is better" but "which one fits my workload."
Block-resistance: mobile vs residential
The single most important technical difference is where the exit IP comes from.
Residential IPs come from home ISP connections. They are trusted — far more than datacenter IPs — but they are increasingly flagged by sophisticated anti-bot vendors who have learned to score residential pools. A proportion of any residential pool will carry a reputation history that triggers friction on the hardest targets.
Mobile IPs exit through real carrier networks subject to carrier-grade NAT (CGNAT). Because thousands of genuine subscribers share every public IP on a mobile network, banning a mobile range risks collateral damage to paying carrier customers — so anti-bot vendors leave mobile ranges alone far more than residential ranges. For the hardest anti-bot targets, a mobile carrier IP is the highest-trust exit point available.
The practical implication: on well-protected sites you will typically see fewer blocks and fewer CAPTCHAs with mobile than with residential. For sites with no meaningful bot protection, the difference matters less, and Oxylabs' broader geo coverage becomes the deciding factor.
Pricing model — prepaid flat vs per-GB metered
Oxylabs prices residential access per gigabyte with tier discounts at volume. The more traffic you send, the higher your bill grows. For unpredictable or bursty scraping jobs this can be the right model — you only pay for what you move.

The break-even point depends on your exact volume and Oxylabs tier, but for teams with predictable, high-volume use the flat model wins on cost. For short, bursty campaigns or pilot projects where you do not want upfront commitment, a metered plan has less financial risk.

Rotating and sticky sessions
Both platforms support rotating and sticky modes. On Nodetonet, you switch between them by appending a modifier to your proxy username — for example, adding -session-abc123 pins your traffic to the same exit IP for the duration of that session, while omitting it routes each request through a new device. No endpoint change needed.

Geo-targeting and carrier selection
Oxylabs covers a large number of countries with its residential pool. Nodetonet's coverage follows your physical device fleet — but within that fleet you can target country, city and specific carrier (for example, Turkcell, Vodafone or Türk Telekom, or Istanbul) using the same username-modifier pattern. Per-client controls and reselling
Nodetonet lets you create individual proxy clients — each with its own username and password, quota limit, expiry date, IP allowlist, domain allow/deny list and thread cap. This makes it straightforward to sell proxy access to end customers or to isolate usage per project without sharing credentials. White-label reselling is built in via WISECP. Oxylabs targets enterprise buyers and does not offer self-service sub-account reselling at the same granularity.

Using Oxylabs as an upstream on Nodetonet
Nodetonet and Oxylabs are not mutually exclusive. Nodetonet's upstream forwarding feature lets you chain Oxylabs behind a Nodetonet endpoint so your clients always connect to one stable, mobile-first host but their traffic exits through Oxylabs' residential pool when needed. Protocol support: HTTP, HTTPS and SOCKS5
Both platforms support HTTP/HTTPS and SOCKS5. On Nodetonet, SOCKS5 lets you forward raw TCP traffic — game clients, custom tooling, non-web applications — through the same mobile device pool without switching infrastructure.
